Guide the Palace Museum

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum, and now a museum for collections of Chinese cultural relics.

The palace complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere. There are over a million rare and valuable works of art in the permanent collection of the Palace Museum, including paintings, ceramics, seals, steles, sculptures, inscribed wares, bronze wares, enamel objects, etc.

The National Palace Museum is a great museum and very large, if you do not have enough time, then chooses the most appropriate line. If only half a day, it would be best to follow the middle of the main road. This axis is also the most tourists will choose the tour route.

Guilinese in Guilin/Yangshuo

What do the Guilinese usually do, what they eat, where for shopping
Market/Street
Zheng Yang Walking Street
Zheng Yang Street is the most hip and popular shopping district in Guilin. The main entrance to Zheng Yang Street is located near the Jie Fang Qiao bus-stop and this is where taxis drop off visitors. Zheng Yang Lu is a Walking street, which means that no vehicles are allowed on it making it a safe place to stroll and do a bit of window shopping. The street's many shops offer fashions, art, tea, local handicrafts, hair salons, bars, and nightclubs. There are also many restaurants and small snack stands that sell Guilin's famous local cuisine. It is the place to see and be seen in Guilin.
Little Hong Kong
There's this underground market called 'little Hong Kong' where they sell clothing and other stuff, like gadgets and hardware thingies. Not that interesting from my point of view, but worth the visit underground. There are countless street markets where they sell all sorts of stuff, from tea to necklaces.
If you want something cheap or 50 feet shoes, it a great street for you.
West Street
It is the place to head. Walk along the cobbled street and you'll find many things to buy. You can watch silk being woven or silver being hammered into shape. Just remember to bargain hard and you'll have a great time!

Leisure and sports
Mountain Climbing
Yao Mountain: it’s the highest mountain in the area and, apparently, you have amazing views from the top, looking at the weird shaped mountains and the city. Apparently because when I went it was cloudy and foggy and I couldn’t see a damn thing. You go up on a cable car and to go down you can either choose to use the cable car again or just use a slide.
Yangshuo Climbing: Climbers come from all around China for the varied rock climbing and rappelling experiences offered by the many limestone formations around Yangshuo. The area offers hundreds of routes, from single to multi-pitch routes at all levels. While karsts can even be found and hiked within the town itself, there are several climbing companies that will take you further afield and where you can get equipment and advice on what level of karst to climb.

Yangshuo Cycling
The best way to explore the area is by bicycle. Virtually any street corner in downtown Yangshuo will rent bicycles by the hour or for the day. Hostels will also lend you a map by which you can navigate the city and the surrounding area. Start with the town itself. Reminiscent of a sleepy mountain ski village, it's filled with small restaurants and bars, all packed next to each other on the streets and the town's small river walk. Crisscrossed with small bridges, you’ll find coffee shops, stores selling everything from curios to handcrafted scarves, and parks mostly filled with elderly Chinese talking, walking, practicing tai chi, and playing board games.

Eating

Guilin Rice Noodles Taking pride of place as the most popular local snack (or breakfast, lunch or dinner) in Guilin, Rice Noodles is pliable but strong, fragrant and mellow, and cheap. Guilin rice noodles can probably be found within 100m of any town or city area.
Oil Tea
Oil Tea is a distinctive flavor of Guilin, Most Outsiders are not used to drink it. Every county of Guilin has people who regularly drink oil tea; however the most famous oil tea drinkers are the Yao people of Gongcheng.
Guilin Chilli Paste
Guilin Chilli Paste, one of three treasures of Guilin, is salable not only to the native but for the abroad for its particular flavor. The main material for Guilin Chilli Paste are lobster sauce, garlic and Sanhua Wine, hot, fragrant and tasteful.
Hot Pot
The most distinctive Guilin food is the hot pot, the pot shop can be found every where. Guilin hot pot is different of other cities’s, there is no Soup. "Yellow chicken stew" is the most common dishes.

Yangshuo Beer Fish
Yangshuo Beer Fish is Yangshuo's most famous dish. It is made from fresh Li River carp. The fresh fish is fried in a wok along with beer, hot and green peppers, garlic, onions, celery, tomatoes, soy, and sugar. Visitors are amazed at how delicious the fish's skin is and how fresh and tender the meat is. Eating Yangshuo's beer fish will be an unforgettable culinary experience.

Two Days Guilin

Guilin is regarded in China as the country's most picturesque city. Two crystal-clear rivers meander through the city, which is encircled by mountains with unusual & bizarre rock formations and caves.

Located in the northeast corner of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guilin is hailed by many as the most picturesque city in China. The city has been a famous destination for over centuries and is world renowned for its breathtaking landscape.

My Two Days Recommended:
Day 1
Yao Mountain:it’s the highest mountain in the area and, apparently, you have amazing views from the top, looking at the weird shaped mountains and the city. Apparently because when I went it was cloudy and foggy and I couldn’t see a damn thing. You go up on a cable car and to go down you can either choose to use the cable car again or just use a slide, which is what I used . I wasn’t really sure how fast I could go, so I kept braking, but it was very cool Must be very nice in summer. I have a video, but as I don’t have the necessary bandwidth to upload it to youtube, that’ll have to wait.

Reed Flute Cave was also another fantastic place where years of lime deposits have grown into very unique shapes every inside ... get your camera ready and bring a mini-tripod to capture the detail ... I didn't :( but I tried my best to capture the art and beauty of this one big cave in Guilin; it is a must to see ... if you have tons of time there are many other caves in the Guilin area to visit ... the feeling there was unbelievable ... to see the stalactites and stalagmites actually meet and form so mysteriously is amazing .

Day2

Li River is definitely the gem of Guilin. The amazing landscapes of Li River make you feel as though you have stepped into a living traditional Chinese painting. Along the Li River, visitors are inspired by the picturesque mountains, peaceful green fields, crystal-clear water, lush bamboos and villages with water buffaloes.

Yangshuo is well known for its large indigenous populations. These minority ethnic groups all have their own traditional dress and songs, which are featured in the city's 'Impression Sanjie Liu' outdoor night show . The night show features choreography on a giant scale, as befits a production by director Yimou Zhuang, who also directed the 2008 Beijing Olympic opening ceremonies. The stage is the landscape of Yangshuo itself, and although focus is nominally on the folk dances on and off the Li River, the giant karsts in the background, illuminated by flood lights, underscore the natural landscape.
